REGISTER NOW FOR EURASIA FORUM FOR MEDIA DEVELOPMENT

Local media NGOs from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, international organisations and donors interested in working together to build democratic media systems in Eurasia are invited to the first Eurasia Forum for Media Development, in Paris from 17 to 19 April.

More than 100 people are expected to attend the meeting to exchange information and ideas about media assistance, its impact and challenges, and how to address them. Organisers hope the forum will forge greater cooperation between regional civil society organisations and elaborate on a region-specific strategy for media development.

The Eurasia forum is part of the global initiative the Global Forum for Media Development, which met in October 2005 in Amman, Jordan. The global forum was organised by a range of media groups, including Internews, BBC World Service Trust, and IFEX members the International Federation of Journalists, Media Rights Agenda, Southeast Asian Press Alliance and the World Association of Newspapers.
