Are you a journalist with a story that protects the public interest, promotes social justice or illuminates a more just vision of society? Then the Fertel Foundation and The Nation Institute invite you to apply for the Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling or the Ridenhour Book Prize. Nominations are due on 1 December 2008.

The Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling is awarded to a whistleblower, an investigative journalist or an organisation that has recently brought an important issue to light. Candidates cannot currently be holding or seeking public office.

The Ridenhour Book Prize will be given to an author who best reflects the legacy of Ridenhour, a journalist, whistleblower and social activist who died in 1988.

Nominations must be postmarked no later than 1 December and submitted to The Nation Institute, 116 East 16th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10003, or sent via fax to +1 (212) 253-5356. Fax submissions must be confirmed via follow-up telephone call.
