(RSF/IFEX) - On 8 December 1999, the three journalists who had been jailed in Djibouti were released. They are Moussa Ahmed Idriss, director of the newspaper "Le Temps", Ali Meidal Waiss, co-director of "Le Temps" and Daher Ahmed Farah, director of "Le Renouveau".

The two newspapers, which were suspended for six months, have still not begun publishing anew. As such, no opposition newspapers are currently published in Djibouti.
